How to Use File Manager in Plesk
If you manage a website and are wondering how to manage files using your Plesk interface, it can be a little confusing unless you have done it before. Managing the files can help you create special directories to store specialized files in. A properly organized file structure can ensure that your website runs smoothly and that you can easily keep track of your site's vital assets.
The necessary steps
- Make sure you are logged in to your Plesk account
- To use the Plesk file manager, scroll down
- Click on the "File Management" icon
- From here, you can upload, delete, neame or change the position of files
- Scroll down
- Select the http docs folder
- Click on the "Folder Icon"
- Here you can see the files in your http folder
- Click on "Add New Directory"
- Enter the name of a new directory in the box provided
- Click on "OK"
- The subdirectory is created
- Go back to main directory
- To rename, click on "Rename"
- Enter a new name in the box
- Click "OK"
- Scroll down
- To delete, select the directory by clicking on the box to the left of it
- Click on "Remove Selected"
- Click "OK" to confirm
- It is deleted
- To upload a CGI file to CGi bin, click to move up to the parent directory
- Navigate to the CGI directory
- Click "New File" icon
- Locate file
- Click "OK" to upload
- To change permission, scroll down
- Click "Permissions"
- Select the appropriate box check marks
- Click "OK"
- To delete account, check the box next to the account
- Click "Remove Selected"
- Click "OK"
- Click on "Home" to return home
