IX Web has been experiencing outages. For my product this is unacceptable. When IX Web is down it looks like my product is broken.

For the first couple of years I really had no issues with ixwebhosting.com. During and since the latest data center move earlier this year ixwebhosting.com customer service has become almost useless. For example, my customer's email was down for 5 days in a row. When I asked why, they told me because they were doing a data center move. I formerly worked for a global systems intergration company and if we let our client's email go down for more than a few hours much less 5 days we would have been fired. I believe the same should go for a prof essional web hosting provider. When I complained about the treatment, their repeated response was we sent you an email stating there would be a changeover. I never received an email from them and ixwebhosting refused to admit they made a mistake. This is only one example of their lack of customer support. Needless to say I am looking for a good hosting provider with good customer service where I can grow my business.

IX Web Hosting is another name for www.Ecommerce.com. Their live chat service is staffed by people that are unfriendly, and are nothing but ticket pushers. They lack any customer service skills what so ever. Their technical staff assumes a lot and could be better outfitted if they went to the local high school and recruited some kids. Finally their billing department is just after your money. Knowing they can't provide the basics in support they offer hosting credit (if your lucky) to you but that is about it. Bottom line, they are all about themselves and never about you. Once they have your money they will be done with you.

IXWebhosting went from the best to the worst in a few years. Their servers appear to be in Hopkinsville, KY but their admin tech support is in the Urkaine. Call their toll free number of chatting with them only gets you to the KY folks who are pretty much useless. All they do is fill out a report and sent it to the Urkaine. Then you wait at least a day. Then you hope something was not lost in translation. You rarely get the problem fixed and they often never understood what the problem was. There is no direct communication with the Ukriane help desk.

I have used IXWebhosting for 5+ years and have been impressed. During that time I have used other hosts for various projects and I keep going back to IX for their customer service (free live web chat and really responsive ticket system) and great prices.

I have used IX Web Hosting service for several years now and have found them completely reliable and responsive. I did an extensive comparison of hosting services before using IX and found that, for the price, the services IX includes in their hosting packages far surpasses all competitors. The uptime promised is provided and I have no complaints whatsoever about the customer service - it is extremely prompt and efficient. To begin with, the help files answer most questions with careful detail and the chat/telephone/support ticket options are all easy to use with fast response times.

We've had IX for nearly 2 years. I've come to realize that when things work they work well. But, when things go bad, they go real bad. In our time with IX, we've had virus and security issues every 4-6 months. One day you go to your website and it's a mess with ads for cheap hotels, airfares and what else?....pornography. It would be so bad, but we're an auto parts company. Hotels, airfares, prosititution does quite fit in with air filters and tie rod ends. In January of this year, they replaced a working "old email server" with a new faster one. Three days later the more reliable faster server went down. We had no emails for 2 days, and even though they promised nothing was lost, emails were in fact lost. Some were very important and caused delayed service to our customers and even lost sales. Their tech support has gotten better. When we first signed on, a trouble ticket would sit in the que for days before it was ever looked at. But, their live chat support is still a joke. Their answer to everything? "Log a trouble ticket and somebody will contact you" just yesterday, more malicious code appeared on our website pages, I informed they of the trouble; their answer? "Change your FTP password" Been there, done that, got a t-shirt. I fixed the problem my self. Our term is up in April with IX, and we will be moving on to somebody else. Last note, if you can speak Russian, maybe you can get more out of them than I could...there is a language barrier when dealing with tech support on the phone or in emails. My advice?...Stay Away!
