Control panel is a joke to begin with.
Glad this site offered me a free 7 day trial, but it didn't
take 1 day to realize I had made a mistake signing up.
Servers are SLOW, email and web is hosted on same server (so
if your web server is down, so is your email server).

Save your time and aggrevation, pick another. They also own
several domains to hook people into their service (such as
Host Excellence)

I have used them in the past. Tecchnical support is poor, most of the techies don't speak English and have problems understanding even the most basic queries. Most things on the control panel are either borken of do not work properly. Hosting wise, the web site is not reliable, going down several times a year. Contacting the technical support is useless. 

The support is OK but the servers are slow. Pros are that all is unlimited and the support. But it is very slow.

Speed, support and availability have deteriorated badly over the last years.

Trying to run phpBB3 forum on a MySql database is virtually impossible because of database overload resulting in failures to connect and/or very slow running.

Support is not good - the Live Chat facility means a long wait to "talk" to people who know little and can do less. 

We've had IX for nearly 2 years. I've come to realize that when things work they work well. But, when things go bad, they go real bad.
In our time with IX, we've had virus and security issues every 4-6 months. One day you go to your website and it's a mess with ads for cheap hotels, airfares and what else?....pornography. It would be so bad, but we're an auto parts company. Hotels, airfares, prosititution does quite fit in with air filters and tie rod ends.

I have used IX Web Hosting service for several years now and have found them completely reliable and responsive.
I did an extensive comparison of hosting services before using IX and found that, for the price, the services IX includes in their hosting packages far surpasses all competitors.
The uptime promised is provided and I have no complaints whatsoever about the customer service - it is extremely prompt and efficient.
To begin with, the help files answer most questions with careful detail and the chat/telephone/support ticket options are all easy to use with fast response times. 

I have used IXWebhosting for 5+ years and have been impressed. During that time I have used other hosts for various projects and I keep going back to IX for their customer service (free live web chat and really responsive ticket system) and great prices. 

For the first couple of years I really had no issues with ixwebhosting.com. During and since the latest data center move earlier this year ixwebhosting.com customer service has become almost useless. For example, my customer's email was down for 5 days in a row. When I asked why, they told me because they were doing a data center move. I formerly worked for a global systems intergration company and if we let our client's email go down for more than a few hours much less 5 days we would have been fired.
