I don't really get the other reviews that I see here about aplus. They've been my web host for a year now and I've found them to be very reliable and helpful. A+
VERY frustrated with Aplus. they recently did a server migration which rendered my FTP server unusable for a week. Then, when it came back online, it would take 20 minutes to upload anything larger than 60k. They finally fixed that (after 4 calls from me) buy giving me another IP to use. Then, emails weren't getting thru to me. And i couldn't find them in junk folder or anything. Finally after 2 weeks of emails back and forth (bc their online chat was no longer working), they told me to change one spam filter setting (which i had asked if that had changed and they said no). When i changed the setting i found more than 1200 emails between Oct and today. Luckily about 90% were spam, but the 120 that weren't were from friends and clients!! I missed work opportunities bc of them. So, as of last night, I'm searing for a new host and email management company.
my only complaint is it takes way too long to get an issue resolved
I have been using this company to host a few sites for the last couple of years. Three times in the past year they have attempted to "upgrade" my domains to a new server. Each time I have been unable to edit my sites for a week at a time. The first two attempts to upgrade apparently were unsuccessful. They now supposedly have completed the upgrade on the third attempt, but my ability to edit my sites remains limited. Customer support has been shaky at best. For a while I would speak to folks in India who, though polite, could be difficult to understand. More recently, if I get through to a live human, which is sometimes impossible, I seem to be talking to an American. Also, recent calls to tech support have been hampered by very bad phone lines or bad connections. I am looking for a new hosting company.
