1&1 Review

WOULD NOT recommend whatsoever! I'm on this site looking for a new host because they have been incredibly unreliable. My sites are constantly down and support never responds. For a long time I had a problem with their sales department constantly harassing and soliciting me to upgrade my plan or add new features. I have seven sites hosted there and have been a customer for
seven years. In the last six weeks my sites have been down
six times. Each time support says they don't know what the
issue is and they are working on it. Each time the site was
down for more than 12 hours.
I am currently looking for a new hosting company due to

I used 1&1 to register some domain names for cheap. Their
system did not charge my card right and I got an invoice
several months later with past due fees of over $18.00 a
month for each domain they screwed up!

I called emailed them with no response, I called and ws told
there was nothing they could do about the charges so I
talked to a supervisor. The supervisor did agree to return

Beware of this host.
They run a low-price deception. Once you are there you get
nothing.
No support, no setup, no hosting.

Don't get fooled. 

I have three website with them and I have no complaints about the service. About price I think their are one of the cheapest, specially in domains. What I really like is that there are no extra charges for data transfer. Their set many features in packages, specially online marketing tools that are very useful and most of them free. 

Another switch and bait company. they advertise as "unlimited space" but have a cap of 30GB on their shared hosting. not recommended. also have poor email and phone service service. if you email them questions, they'll just say call their 800 number which connects you to who knows where. had them for over 4 years, and wish i would had gone somewhere else.... 

We have two dedicated servers with 1&1. In January the hard
drive crashed and one of our servers was down for two days.
We asked 1&1 to install a RAID systems to avoid this
problem.

Last week (September 22,11) we lost the same server again.
After many calls we were told the cause was nother hardware
crash. Even though we had a RAID system in place we were

I've used 1&1 for around five years, and have had numerous issues with their team and service. Their integrity I find lacking as they bury cancellation options on an entirely separate domain from the admin domain which you use access to manage EVERY OTHER facet of your account. Also I had numerous issues trying to login to this cancellation domain, and their customer service people have been less than helpful.... Read More

I have to say 1&1 internet hosting company SUCKS! They sent me an invoice 2 months ago. I immediately replied from the same email address telling them it’s not my charges and they need to cancel the service and issue me the credit. 2 months later, I am still calling them; sending them emails and nothing has been resolved. Generally their service has been good in the past, but I was in the process of changing to to a new host that would support ASP.net 3.5 (and update my software & get Microsoft Expression) when they came out with the deal of downloading Dreamweaver free for a 1 year contract. I've had a 1&1 linux package for about 5 years with multiple domains. I have no complaints - the service has always worked great. I especially like having ssh access to the web host. 

Been with them for years. Always great service and low prices. Web mail is a bit slow, but that's my only nitpick.

I've had the service for at least 5 years. I have 2 websites that are for non-profits and my own website. Plus I set up a site for a local business with 1&1. Great service, reliable, fast response.
