Microsoft Challenges Google with Bing

Just yesterday it was released – Bing, the new search engine from Microsoft. This is their attempt to become a serious contender and steal a piece of the pie from Google. The features are pretty much the same although they say that it delivers a much more functional experience, something that I to be perfectly honest have not noticed yet. But hey, it is only a couple of hours old, and it has quite a few good reviews, so maybe I should give it a proper try.

I for one am not all that impressed over the way it look. It is pretty much a wallpaper (and not a very interesting one I might add) with the same search function that we already know from Google and Yahoo. I am more into the minimalist design, but that has to do with personal taste. Who knows, you might love the way Bing looks. The search results that I get when I use Bing are pretty ok but not impressive enough to make me want to change search engine. Ok, Bing might have some growing pains (as all businesses do) in the beginning so I will most likely keep track of their progress to see how they evolve in the future. A little healthy competition is always a good element.

Eventhough Bing is Nice… It is difficult to break old habits… Googling is an old habit!

I don’t think bing can challenge Google because Google is big daddy of search engine.

Besides I think Bing works on similar blue print of yahoo search engine so results are more brand oriented…

my initial test result shows that Bing is as good as Google when displaying relevant search results. Google might be having a tough competitor with Microsofts own search engine.

  5. Microsoft Bing would be the closet competitor of Google. but i still use Google because it shows more relevant results on the serp.

i have been evaluating the search results of Microsoft Bing compared to Google and they are comparable. Bing gives almost the same relevant search results just like Google.

Bing’s results are quite good to my experience and they are gaining mass by the minute(crawling), so technologically it is comparable to google. Problem is people don’t really think of asking a second opinion or changing habits.

It’s nice to see Google getting a little bit of competition. When it’s all said and done, competition helps us all out and keeps costs low for all of us!

I have NOT stopped googling. Agree with Waver. Bing is pretty good but Google is in my backbone.
