Blogger Getting Several New Features from Google

Google is now focusing to improve its weblog platform, Blogger, by adding several new features that should change the way blogs are generally viewed by its users. The updates focus on modernizing the user interface and making content more presentable and easier to consume.

Blogger

The primary change is the option to "view" the blogs in an entirely new way. This will be automatically available for all the blogger hosted blogs and can be accessed by adding "/view" to the address. e.g. yourblogname.blogspot.com/view will open your site in with completely different interface making it much easier for users to read and explore.

Google is also using better web technologies such as CSS3, HTML5 and AJAX to bring features such as Flipcard; an easy way to view posts while they are stacked side-by-side like photos while providing details such as number of comments and publishing dates as the mouse hovers over them. Mosaic is another interactive feature to view photos from within the blog posts.

Timeslides provides a quick glance at the newer to older articles by arranging them in three columns. The first column shows the most recent posts in the blog along with photos and short summaries. The second column provides just short snippets of a little older posts while the third column shows only the titles of the more older articles. There is also a new Sidebar view that which the list of posts to the left bar while the content can be read on the right side of the page.
These are first of the many features Google is planning to provide with its famous blogging platform throughout this year.
