Being open source a community of developers has contributed with a wide variety of interesting and useful plugins. The features of Piwik are built inside the plugins and it's easy to add new ones or remove those that you feel are redundant. Building your own plugins is easily done by all of you that have skills in developing.
Piwik is installed on your own webserver which means that all of the data is stored in your own database. The statistics can be easily accessed using open API's (Application Programming Interface). A new great little extra feature was recently made available on Piwik - a fully customizable user interface meaning that you can drag and drop the widgets however you want. In other words will it be tailor fitted for you.
The Piwik Web Analytics Software Program is undergoing constant changes, as most open source programs, making it a good idea to check out their blog from time to time. Here you will be able to take part in information on what's going on and if any new cool plugins have been created. If you are a developer with a need to help they will gladly welcome it. Why not download Piwik and combine it with for example Google Analytics (even though they wish to be an alternative) to get the most complete statistics there is?
