Superb is one of the Good Guys

We are glad to let you know that Superb.net is one of the good guys of the web hosting industry.

Superb Group

Superb.net has been in the industry ever since 1996 and it’s no surprise that they’re still here (and will be for many years to come – no fly-by-night operations here), 15 years later. The hosting is top notch and everyone working for Superb are true hosting experts. If you’re looking for a host to feel safe with this is the one.

Meet the people behind the company

Haralds Superb

- Can you please give a brief presentation of yourself

This is Haralds Jass, President & CEO of Superb. Harald's greatest interest is in how to make things work better and more efficiently. He looks at hosting technologies as tools and methods to achieve his desired goal: providing the best customer experience through optimal operational efficiency.

Prior to founding Superb Internet in 1996, Haralds created and operated an online interactive entertainment venture named Superb Entertainment (1994 - 1996). In an interesting twist of fate, it was the lack of hosting infrastructure for this effort that led to the launch of Superb Internet.

A native of Latvia, Haralds has studied Economics and European Intellectual History at the University of British Columbia. He enjoys traveling and outdoors activities, but issues related to the hosting industry are never far from his mind.

-    What sets your company apart from other providers?

Longevity: knowing that we’ve been here for 16+ years and are going to be here next year, next decade, and on...

Self-reliance & strength: our own data centres, our own coast-to-coast IP backbone. We control the full aspects of our service. We control our destiny. We do not rely on any third parties.

Stability: we do not depend on fickle outside third parties.

Security.

Quality of service: three 24x7x365 staffed locations. You can always talk to a live technician nearly instantly.

Compliance & Certifications, including ISO 9001:2008 that no competitor of ours has been able to obtain.

Expertise: we’ve been in this industry for over 16 years, and many of our staff have been with us for over 10 years, so we know what we are doing and the industry extremely well.

- Who is your typical customer?

There is no such thing as a typical customer. Really. We have customers ranging from $5/month to $50,000/month. Our customers range from small businesses, to large international corporations, financial institutions and governmental agencies (and everything in-between). We offer a full scope of service, so that once a customer starts with us, our services will scale and grow with them. Nothing makes us happier than seeing our resellers (our most valued customers) grow from $50/month to $5000/month in a year and then to $25,000/month by year 2 (as has happened – numerous times). We take especial pride and joy in our customers’ success, because, after all, our customers’ success is our success, and without our customers there is no us.

- What do you think about the future of web hosting/trends in web hosting?

Web hosting has been an essential service to most businesses for quite a while. As such, the industry’s future is secure: as it provides an ever increasingly important – essential – service. The industry will keep evolving and growing, as it has over the last 20 years. Compared to just 10 years ago, now the average hosting consumer has a lot more automation tools in place, and the service is far more automated with very little human intervention needed. These trends will continue to entirely take out the human involvement from a customer’s experience (other than the option to talk to tech support, of course). So has to be the case, as with the ever dropping prices and greater inclusions in service (where the cost of the hardware and bandwidth is not going down nearly as fast or much as hosting prices), hosting has to be entirely automated and less and less technicians have to service more and more customers. 15 years ago you may have had one systems administrator for every 50 clients, 10 years ago one systems admin for every 500 clients, 5 years ago one system admin for every 2,500 clients, and now one systems admin for every 10,000. This trend will continue going forward, as it has thus far, with ever better and more reliable, complicated automation and provisioning tools – which are ultimately wins for the customer (faster and more error-free service, taking out the human – error-prone – factor, and getting more for less/lower prices).

-    Finally, if you had to pick one song to represent your company – what song would that be?

“Simply the Best.”
